About Diethylproprion (Tenuate)

Diethylproprion (Tenuate) is an appetite suppressant and has successfully been helping people lose weight since. It is designed to be used in combination with a healthy diet and regular exercise. Losing weight and keeping it off can reduce the many health risks that come with obesity, including heart diseasediabetes, and high blood pressure. Diethylproprion works by affecting parts of the central nervous system which effectively suppress the feeling of hunger. Diethylproprion works by stimulating the hypothalamus gland and affecting certain neurotransmitters to decrease appetite. The hypothalamus is the region of the brain that controls the autonomic nervous system, regulating sleep cycles, body temperature, appetite, etc. Diethylproprion is known to increase levels of energy within patients which can be expended through exercise.

There are two forms of diethylproprion. The immediate-release 25mg form of this medication is taken up to 3 times a day 1 hour before meals or as directed by our physicians. If late-night eating is a problem you may need another dose in the evening. Taking this medication late in the day may cause trouble sleeping (insomnia).

The extended-release 75mg form of diethylpropion is usually taken once a day in the morning. Do not crush or chew extended-release tablets. Doing so can release all of the drug at once, increasing the risk of side effects.

The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. Our physicians will adjust the dose to find the best dose for you. Use this medication regularly and exactly as prescribed in order to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time(s) each day.

This medication may stop working well after you have been taking it for a while. Talk with our physicians if this medication stops working well. Do not increase the dose unless directed to do so.

Appetite suppressants like Diethylproprion, Phentermine, Phendimetrazine, Benzphetamine and Qsymia, should NOT be used as a substitute for proper diet or exercise. For maximum effects, they must be used in conjunction with lifestyle modification, a reduced-calorie diet, and exercise. Any modifications in your diet, activity level, and behavior must be developed and continued long-term in order to continue losing weight and prevent the lost weight from returning. transformyou will help you stay on-track with your medical weight loss goals, checking in on you frequently regarding your general health, weight, etc. and adjusting your medical weight loss plan according to your needs.
